Unexplained Death of Scott Michael Beeney – 1986

Scott Michael Beeney  –  Born December 4th 1967

We are pleased to be undertaking a cold case review to investigate the mysterious disappearance and ultimate death of “Scott Michael Beeney” in Pekin, Illinois. He disappeared on February 21st 1986 and his body was discovered on April 1st 1986 in the river behind The Pekin Boat Club, at the foot of Catherine Street. It is thought from information that we have so far been supplied that Scott had been murdered by strangulation before his body was thrown into the water, he had suffered a broken Hyoid bone, which is located in the anterior midline of the neck between the chin and the thyroid cartilage. In the case of a suspected murder a broken hyoid bone strongly indicates throttling / strangulation.

Scott’s mother was Mary Beeney of Herman Street in Pekin, illinois. Mary passed away aged 67 on Monday 12 January 2004. She last worked as a cook at the former Red Wagon Restaurant  in Pekin. His father was Theodore Edward Beeney, he passed away on May 15 1992.
